Job Description:

Our Victoria (British Columbia) client has a permanent full time available for a Human Resource specialist. If interested please apply directly to derek.weber@experis.com

  • Write, update, research, develop, implement and evaluate HR policies and procedures
  • Aid in preparing and implementing a pay equity plan, managing the resource planning, improving the training program, and bridging competencies to recruitment
  • Deliver a monthly orientation session to all new hires across all locations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a Bachelors of Business majoring in Human Resources
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation
  • Aid with the administrative aspects of recruitment - posting vacancies on job boards, liaising with staffing agencies, screening, conducting interviews, and checking references
  • Prepare offer letters, and conduct new employee orientation with each new employee
  • Benefit and Pension Administration. Including but not limited to responding to employee inquiries regarding matters such as health benefits, change of information, vacation, banked hours
  • Responsible for employee contract extensions
  • Prepare salary letters and position change letter
