Accounts Receivable Team Lead

Overall Job Purpose
Reporting into the Controller, this position is responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable and Credit/Cash/Collection functions (currently 4 direct reports.)


Responsibilities

  • Lead, Manage, Mentor and Develop the Accounts Receivable and Credit/Cash/Collection teams
  • Serve as the key escalation point for Accounts Receivable/Collection related issues
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenue and cash receipts
  • Ensure client invoices are paid within company and pay term guidelines
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, analysis and journal entries
  • Monitor and report on DSO and Bad Debt
  • Quarterly reporting related to AR and Bad Debt to Manpower
  • Manage scorecards and other client requirements
  • Monitoring and improving accounting policies and procedures
  •  General ad-hoc analysis and reconciliations, as required

Key Criteria/Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ work experience within Accounts Receivable
  • Experience leading teams and those around them
  • Customer service environment experience in a high volume and deadline driven position
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Team player, adaptable to change
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with employees, consultants and clients
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of database software, accounting software, preferably ACCPAC as well as strong Excel skills
  • Must be able to obtain Enhanced Reliability Security Level if employee does not have when they enter position
