SocialResponsibility

Elevating potential is humanly possible.

Along with our parent company, ManpowerGroup, the nature of what we do – connecting people to jobs, training and tools that enable them to support themselves, build a sense of pride and contribute to the community – puts social responsibility at our core. Our commitment to producing a positive impact on individuals and societies is also an extension of our corporate values:

  • Respect for individuals and communities and the important role work plays in people's lives
  • Sharing our knowledge and expertise to develop sustainable workforce practices
  • Seeking innovative ways to develop socially inclusive work environments for the long term

Experis’ social responsibility principles and practices advance our focus on the world of work: We serve as a bridge to employment for all – linking the disadvantaged and disenfranchised to opportunities that help them survive and thrive. But it goes even further. We also strive to operate at the highest level of integrity and to be an effective and imaginative agent of change – in the smallest communities and around the world.

Workforce Diversity

Building a better workforce one person at a time.

Long before corporate diversity directors, diversity departments, diversity goals, Minority and Women Business Enterprises and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Experis was finding the best in everyone and putting it to work. Since our start, our business has been guided by the belief that there's a role for every individual in the world of work.

Beginning in 1948, our parent company ManpowerGroup was a pioneer in creating opportunities for women, when it was not yet socially accepted for women to work outside of the home and develop careers. We also played an important role in providing jobs for people of colour in the 1960s, the most pivotal era for racial diversity in the North American workforce.

The nature of our business has given us a privileged position to promote diversity. We take great pride in furthering the potential of individuals of diverse cultures, talents and experience. We always consider what people can do, versus what they can't do. And we make every effort to provide opportunities for anyone who is seeking the rewards and dignity of work.

ManpowerGroup is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in a professional, high quality work environment. It is the policy of ManpowerGroup and all of its subsidiaries to recruit, train, promote, transfer, pay and take all employment actions without regard to an employee's race, colour, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable law.

Philanthropy

We believe in human potential.

Since 1953, The Manpower Foundation has been dedicated to supporting job training and education initiatives for our nation's underemployed and youth. Through monetary contributions, volunteerism and other donations, the Foundation supports programs and organizations that focus on two key areas: creating paths to employment and promoting youth education and development.

By offering training in growing fields for those often overlooked in the workforce, the Foundation helps individuals experience the financial and personal rewards of sustainable work, while strengthening communities and developing a stronger, more diverse work-ready population for employers. And by providing resources for youth education, the Foundation prepares tomorrow's workforce to conquer the challenges of the changing world of work.

Along with these initiatives, the Manpower Foundation also supports healthcare and social services through an annual donation to the United Way, and the arts through an annual donation to the United Performing Arts Fund.

Environmental

Fully supporting bright green advancements.

As a service organization, our environmental impact might be small compared to that of manufacturing industries. But that doesn't mean we overlook the many ways we can go green. Whenever possible, we incorporate eco-friendly initiatives into our business practices.

We continue to explore opportunities to minimize our impact on the environment by encouraging colleagues to embrace technology, such as e-mail, teleconferencing, net meetings, webinars and video conferencing to reduce unnecessary travel. In our offices nationwide, we implement programs that reduce the use of energy and resources such as paper, and promote recycling.

In 2007, Experis and our parent company, ManpowerGroup, moved into our newly constructed world headquarters, a state-of-the-art green building in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This energy-efficient building represents a triumph of environmental vision and execution, and was recently recognized with Gold Status under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system – the first new building in Milwaukee to earn that distinction. The LEED Green Building Rating System, administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), serves as the benchmark in green building design, construction, operation and maintenance.

Our world headquarters now establishes a benchmark for all future Experis and Manpower office developments around the world - furthering our commitment to environmental stewardship.
